GARDEL TECHNIQUES: ALWAYS AT THE VANGUARD

At Gardel Hair Restoration Institute, we use the latest and most advanced hair transplant technique currently available: Follicular Unit Transplant.

Follicular Unit Transplant may sound simple at first, but to actually perform it well you need the technology, attention to the smallest detail, and truly having micro-surgery skills, beyond merely doing surgery and artistic work.

Harvesting hair from the donor area, however, worries many people who are considering hair transplants because they fear it will leave visible scars in this area.

In response to this concern, specialists in the field the world over have done research to identify those techniques that can avoid these unappealing and undesirable scars.

As a result, GHRI has adopted and developed the best international harvesting techniques, minimizing linear donor scars.

The choice of technique will depend on the type of hair loss, and the needs and desires of the patient.

GARDEL’S EXTRACTION TECHNIQUES

null
Used for closing “strip” harvest donor area, achieving a nearly invisible linear scar.
null
This technique consists in harvesting individual follicular units directly from the donor area, resulting in tiny, nearly undetectable circle-shaped scars.

Mixta (Sutura Tricofitica + F.U.E.)

Recently-developed technique aimed at allowing a greater number of grafts to be obtained from the donor area in a single session, increasing the number of follicular units to over 7,000 per session.

GARDEL’S IMPLANTATION PLAN

Through 20 years of experience, Gardel Hair has adopted and developed the following techniques for the implantation of follicular units that when combined, can achieve artistic and completely natural results.

This revolutionary method is now used by the most important hair transplant clinics in the world and is divided into several steps which are as follows:

1. Gardel’s Master Plan – Implantation line and area artistic design.

In this stage of the process is where the artistic technique of the surgeon is evidenced, because the specialist must create a design that adapts perfectly and naturally to the facial structure and type of baldness of each patient.

This design is performed by drawing lines over the patient’s scalp where hair is going to be implanted. This design will provide or restore facial balance to the patient which will remain in years to come.

This is capillary design expertise is greatly based on determining the geometrical shape of the face (diamond, rectangular, oval, circular, triangular or square) and how baldness has affected this shape. Subsequently the transplant design is adapted to these personal characteristics, restoring balance to the facial composition of the patient in a natural manner that will go undetected.

2. Gardel´s Micro Incisions Technique

This is the stage where artistic expression, surgical precision, medical expertise and technological advancement meet. With the help of a modern incision instrument designed especially for leaving no scars, tiny micro incisions, only slightly larger than a hair follicle are made in the scalp area where the follicles are to be implanted.

These incisions be made with artistic aesthetics as well as surgical precision in order for the results to appear natural, and their microscopic size will allow greater density by far than any other technique.

Technique Characteristics

  • 100% manually performed procedure
  • Specific variation and separation of each incision according to the region and the size of the graft that is to be placed
  • The use of specially designed surgical instrumentation for the performing of incisions according to the number of hairs within each graft (1,2,3,4, and up to 5 hairs) achieving greater density as well as natural appearance.
  • Precision and aesthetics in the angle, depth and direction of each incision so the newly implanted graft will grow in the desired direction, achieving a discrete and natural appearance. This applies to all areas of the head where transplantation will take place.

3. Dense Packing, Gardel´s high density implantation technique

Dense Packing involves a mixing of up to four types of grafts, according to each patient’s personal plan.

It is important to understand the difference between normal density and the density required to achieve aesthetically pleasing results. Capillary density is measured in the number of follicular units per square centimeter. This number greatly varies between the diverse ethnic groups; Caucasians usually have between 90 to 120 folliular units per cm2, other ethnic groups may have more or less, a brief consultation with a specialist will help you determine the density degree that is right for you.

Our Dense Packing technique is the key to obtaining high density degrees. In this stage each graft is manually implanted, one by one, inside each of the micro incisions previously made with the specialized surgical instruments that do not endanger the vital structure of the hair follicle. All of this with careful precision regarding the angle and location of each incision and placement of each follicular unit.

The instruments required for these procedures are available in the USA, Canada European Union, and they are used by the top hair transplant clinics in the world. This delicate process demands a very competitive and highly experienced medical and technical staff, in order to achieve this procedure in a time and movement coordinated network. In this professional environment, more than 7,000 follicular units have been meticulously transplanted in one session.

Dense Packing involves a mixing of up to four types of grafts, according to each patient’s personal plan.

4. Gardel´s Lateral Implantation Process Technique or “Triangles of Youth”

The lateral side (temples) is regrettably one of the most affected areas in most male baldness patterns. However, very few hair restoration clinics dared to take on the challenge of categorically solving the loss of hair in this area.

We at GHRI took on the challenge of solving the lateral process implantation technique. In very little time we achieved what we now call the “triangle of youth”, which today constitutes one of the pillars in the restoration of natural implant hairline design.

This provides the patient with a more aesthetic and youthful appearance, thus the name “triangles of youth”.

5. Gardel´s Megasessions Technique

Pattients with more advanced baldness patterns usually prefer the greatest ammounts of grafts transplanted in the least ammount of surgical interventions possible. At GHRI, any surgical procedure that exceeds the transplantation of 2000 grafts is classified as a Mega Session.

Our Mega Session Technique allows the patient to obtain in one session, results that were not even imaginable in the past for one intervention.

Mega Sessions are safe and produce excellent results when performed by experienced and specially trained surgeons and staff. It takes years of experience and hundreds of operations in order to master the craft well enough to perform a mega session.

Megasessions Advantages

  • Greater quantities of follicular units transplanted within one intervention
  • Excellent aesthetic results in less time
  • Less overall surgical interventions on the patient
  • Virtually undetectable scar in the case of trichophytic closure technique
  • Long term economic advantage
