Graduated from the Escuela Medico Militar in Mexico City, Mexico in 1981 with the degree of Major Medical Surgeon.He completed his rotating and postgraduate internship at the Hospital Central Militar in 1982.
Began his General Surgery Residency at the Military Hospital in Guadalajara, Jalisco, concluding in 1985.
He undertook his residency to qualify as a plastic surgeon at the Instituto Jalisciense de Cirugía Plástica, Estética y Reconstructiva ‘José Guerrero Santos’, culminating his studies with honors in 1988.
In 1989 he completed his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of California: ‘Fellowship Plastic Surgery’.
By that time, in 1990, he formed the hair transplant group in the city of Tijuana, B.C. and received the most intense and meticulous training from two of the best teachers in the world in the art of micro hair transplantation, Dr. William Rassman and Dr. Robert Berstein.
Finally in 1994, he accomplished his goal by opening Gardel Hair Restoration Institute and Gardel Plastic Surgery in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico.
In Mexico, Gardel Hair Restoration Institute pioneered the use of the high resolution binaural microscope in 1998, as well as the practice of performing Megassesions.
As CEO of Gardel Hair Restoration Institute he has to date achieved more than 7,000 hair transplant cases for patients of various nationalities.

Year after year he is invited to participate nationally and internationally in updating congresses as a guest teacher in the science and art of hair micro-transplantation.
One of his participations as guest professor was in March 2009, Honduras; with the topic: ‘Reconstruction of lateral areas or triangles of the GHRI Youth’.
Gardel Hair Restoration Institute is the only place in the country that offers teaching and instruction in hair transplantation to plastic surgeons from Mexico and abroad.Continuing with a more present temporality, in the years 2020 and 2022 he participated in the congress #47 and #49 Symposium with Dr. Jose Guerrero Santa covering the topics: ‘Male and female androgenetic baldness’, ‘Androgenetic baldness diagnosis and classification’ and ‘Surgical techniques in hair transplantation’ category professor.
Later in the same year (2022), he presented his participation in the congress #30 plastic surgery, ‘Advances in hair transplantation’ in professor category. Among his most current participations in the year 2023, is the congress #31 in International Facial Plastic Surgery by the College of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons of Baja California (CCPERBC by its acronym in spanish) with the theme ‘hair transplantation and facial rejuvenation in combined technique’ with professor category.
