At Gardel Hair Restoration Institute we use the most modern technique available for hair transplantation: Follicular Unit Transplantation.

In principle, a follicular unit transplant seems simple, but to carry it out requires technology, high attention to every detail, and to have acquired true skill for microsurgery, making it more than a surgical act, an artistic work.

However, obtaining the hair from the donor area and especially from their respective follicular units, has been a cause of concern for many who wish to perform a hair transplant for fear of obtaining visible scars in this region. For this reason specialists in the field worldwide have been given the task of investigating which techniques can avoid unsightly and undesirable scars.

Due to this factor we have adopted and developed the best techniques at international level, for the extraction of the donor area minimizing the scarring process.

The choice of the technique to be used will depend on the type of baldness, needs and taste of the patient.

GARDEL EXTRACTION TECHNIQUES

TRICOTRIFIC SUTURE (Trichophitic Closure)
Used in the resection of the donor area "in strip", resulting in an imperceptible linear scar.

F.U.E. (Follicular Unit Extraction)
Individual follicular unit extraction. Technique that consists in extracting one by one, hair follicles from the donor area obtaining as a result punctiform scars usually undetectable.

MIXED (Trichophytic Suture + F.U.E.)
Technique recently developed in order to obtain in one session as many grafts as possible from the donor area, which can be more than 3500 follicular units per session.

Master Plan GHRI or Artistic Design of the Implantation Line and Areas to be Transplanted.

This part of the process is where the surgeon's artistic experience manifests itself in all its splendor. Since the expert must create the best design that adapts -perfectly and naturally- to the facies (face shape) of each patient and his or her type of baldness.

This design is made by outlining on the patient's scalp the areas where the hair will be transplanted. This achieves the recovery of an aesthetic hair frame, which expresses a facial balance in the present time and the years to come.

One of the bases of our expert in hair transplantation is based on the adaptation of the design to the shape of the face (diamond, rectangular, oval, circular, triangular and square) and the type of baldness of each of our patients.

Micro-Incision Technique GHRI

Much of the surgeon's artistic expression in hair transplantation is translated into the realization of small micro-holes on the scalp, with the help of the most modern instruments specially designed to leave NO scar or enlarged pore. Each incision is very fine and the thickness is slightly larger than a hair, thus favoring a much better density than other techniques.

Characteristics of our technique

•
100% manual procedure

•  Specific variation and separation of each incision, depending on the region and size of the graft to be placed.

•  Special surgical instrumentation designed to make incisions according to the type of hair graft (either 1, 2, 3, 4 or even 5 hairs) thus achieving maximum density.

•  Angle, direction and depth are designed so that the new hair that was grafted, grows with the orientation where it was planned, achieving a discreet and natural look. This applies to the frontal, temporal and coronal area, as well as the rest of the places where new hair will be implanted.

High Density Implantation Technique "Dense Packing GHRI".

Detailed and handcrafted process where the hair graft transplant is completed. The density of the hair transplant is fundamental when evaluating results. Nowadays it is the biggest concern that patients have.

What needs to be understood is the difference between normal density and the density required to achieve an aesthetically pleasing result. Hair density is measured in number of follicular units per cm2. This number varies greatly in different ethnic groups. The average density of mestizos is between 60 and 90 follicular units per cm2, while the density of Caucasians is between 90 and 120 follicular units per cm2.

The key to obtain a high density is the implantation of grafts -dense packing GHRI- where each graft is transplanted manually and one by one on each micro incision, with specially designed instruments so as not to damage the vital structure of each hair graft. This respecting the angle and location of each incision where each follicular unit will be implanted.

The instrumentation required for this work is available for sale only in the USA, Canada and the European Union and is used by the best hair surgery clinics around the world. This delicate process requires an expert medical and technical team, trained and highly competitive to achieve the process in a coordinated cold network in time and movement. This is achieved by meticulously implanting up to more than 7000 hairs per session.
To achieve a high density - Dense Packing - in GHRI we make a mixture of four types of grafts, according to the personal plan of each patient.

Technique of Implantation in Lateral Processes or Triangles of Youth.

The lateral processes (temples) are unfortunately one of the most affected causes in most male alopecia patients. Hair loss in this area is categorical.

Since then in Gardel we adopted this challenge of implanting on lateral processes. In a short time we achieved what we now call the "triangle of youth", which is now one of the pillars in the restoration of the natural lines of hair implantation, giving the patient a better aesthetic appearance and youthful appearance, hence the name triangle of youth.

Megassesion GHRI Technique

Patients with more advanced baldness patterns usually prefer the largest amount of grafts in the least amount of interventions possible. At GHRI, any surgery that exceeds 2000 grafts is classified as a megassesion.

Our megassesion technique provides the patient with results that were impossible to imagine in the past with a single procedure.

Megassesions are safe, and produce exceptional results when performed by experienced and specially trained surgeons and technicians. It takes years of experience and several hundred patients to achieve the mastery and ability to perform a megasession.

Benefits of Megassesions

•  The largest amount of hair in a single procedure

•  Aesthetically excellent results in less time

•  Fewer interventions

•  Virtually undetectable scar due to trichophytic suture technique

•  You get the best cost-benefit in the market
